There once lived in a village by name Massa, a man called Samba. It happened that all the inhabitants of Massa were deaf.
Samba, a shepherd, took his flock to the fields to graze everyday. One day when on the fields, Samba noticed that one of his
sheep was not among the others. He therefore decided to search for it. He went to a nearby farm where he met a lady carrying
a baby at her back. He told the lady about his missing sheep and promised to give her a sheep with a broken leg if she could
give him the direction in which the sheep went. The lady did not understand anything that Samba said. Thinking Samba wanted
to know her boundary, she raised her right hand to a path.
Samba followed that path and fortunately for him he found the missing sheep. He carried the sheep with the broken leg
on his shoulder and headed towards the lady. When he got to the lady, he put the sheep at the lady's feet. The lady, who taught
Samba was accusing her of breaking the sheep's leg, started shouting on top of her voice. In their own body language they
decided to take the matter to the chief.
They all presented their case to the chief. The chief, who was as deaf as a "chamber pot" did not understand
anything at all. Thinking Samba was denying responsibility of the child, he turned to Samba and said, "This child looks
exactly like you. Why are you trying to deny the child? Now take this lady and the child home and look after them." The
case was closed and everybody departed.
